For the sake of my son's anonymity, I refer to them in this blog as Senpai & Kohai. This is a Japanese mentoring system where the senior takes the junior under their wing, or in this case, big brother advising little brother. It seemed appropriate.
I give you the boys, dudes and Son's of Cheese ...
This young man is a junior in high school. He takes after me in looks, but he is his father's son. He has inherited his father's sense of humor and intelligence. He's one smart kid, a voracious reader, loves video games and is learning to drive ... YIKES! He studies Aikido and is currently the rank of Nikkyu. He's also a bit of a smart aleck, which he kinda gets from me.
The many faces of Senpai.
This young man is a freshman in high school. He takes after his father in looks and is an intelligent kid with a certain wisdom that belies his years. He loves video games, Dr. Who, Star Wars and has had a fascination with Big Foot since he was a wee lad. Kohai is also autistic or what is referred to as ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) He falls on the higher end of the spectrum and was diagnosed with what used to be known as Asperger's Syndrome when he was in about the third grade. He studies Aikido as well and is currently the rank of Yonkyu.
The many faces of Kohai.
